  1. Dear Brother Jorge,

As you point out Youcef Nadarkhani has been given death sentence, and it is something that is being broadcasted all over the world. However, one thing that most media do not say (which also is not discerned by those who are not involved in the church in Iran) is that he has been one of the chief leaders of a growing cult in Iran, which is known as, the Jesus Only (Oneness Pentecostal) cult. They totally deny the doctrine of the Trinity and teach the Sebalian (Modalism) heresy. They believe in Baptismal regeneration and many other man made heresies. They have been rejected by the evangelical churches and pastors in Iran. I have spoken to friends of Yousef Nadarkhani and also the Assembly of God’s pastor in Rasht (the city where Yousef and his group had worked for years previous to his arrest). They all confirm the same things. Their view of the Oneness of God fits in well with the non-Trinitarian view of Islam, so they have been able to recruit many people into their churches.

Obviously we are all saddened that someone is being unjustly treated, and no one should be persecuted for what they believe. But what is worse about Youcef Nadarkhani is that he is committed to a Christ who is not the Son of God, who taught salvation by works as well as grace.

We must pray that he will seek the Triune God through Lord Jesus Christ, and trust Him alone for forgiveness of sins.

    Yours by grace

  2. Dear brother,

Thank you very much for your comments. They are very, very helpful, because here in Spain we take for granted that Nadarkhani is a brother in Christ. Obviously, we lack of accurate information here, in all levels.

Well, in a sense, it doesn’t change the fact that we are to continue to fight for his freedom, but obviously not on the same basis. We have to pray for his release, but also we have to ask that the Lord open his eyes and his heart to the true Christ of the Scriptures. His spiritual condition is far more dangerous that his imprisonment and the human sentence that hangs over him.

    Yours in Christ,
    Jorge Ruiz
